En ingles se deberia de escribir " people is awesome"
A pesar de que "people" sea un plural, el sentido del titulo agrupa a un conjunto especifico (as a whole).
mas referncias de como se usa "people is and people are" aqui:
Thus, if we're talking about eggs, we could say "A dozen is probably not enough." But if we're talking partying with our friends, we could say, "A dozen are coming over this afternoon." The jury delivers its verdict. [But] The jury came in and took their seats.
As for "family",here we have two versions. We can say either "my family is" or "my family are" but it all depends on the context,
When the word "family" is used as a Collective Noun it agrees with the verb in the singular, e.g. My family is large. (we mean the family as a whole).
When it is used as a Noun of Multitude it agrees with the verb in the plural. e.g. My family are asleep.( here we mean the members of the family).
#2 gracias por tan buena explicación. La verdad es que a mí me sonaba raro lo de "are", pero respeté el título original pensando que ellos sabrían más inglés que yo
