La clave está en la proteína que se usa a la vez de "músculo" y "rótula" en cada ciclo de despliegue/bloqueo/desbloqueo/pliegue.
La resilina es un hidrogel con una resiliencia y una eficiencia energética extraordinarios. Sólo se pierde un 3 % de la energía en forma de calor.

No es sólo un plegado de las secciones ingenioso, hay que conseguir un material con las propiedades de esa proteína para mantener estable cada posición, y además energéticamente tan eficiente en cada ciclo.
