1. Que las células crezcan de tamaño.<br />
2. Que aumente el número de células.<br />
3. Las dos a la vez.<br />
En el caso del desarrollo embrionario, la división celular, aumento de número de células, es muy rápido, y no da tiempo a que las células crezcan. Se parte de una célula entre enorme y descomunal (óvulo fecundado, imagina lo grande que es una única célula en el caso del huevo de las aves) que tiene material de sobra almacenado para aguantar miles de divisiones. Una vez que el embrión madura un poco más, las células se dividirán con menos frecuencia y les dará tiempo a duplicar su tamaño antes de dividirse.<br />
Va por fases perfectamente controladas, con cascadas de señales que se van sucediendo unas a otras, independientemente de los nutrientes (antes de empezar los ha acumulado para no empezar si no va a poder acabar).</p><p>&#187;&nbsp;autor: <strong>natrix</strong></p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Lo que distingue y define más claramente a los animales no es el estar &#34;animados&#34;, es decir, el moverse: la característica principal que es común a todos los animales es precisamente la formación de la blástula (la pelota final de células resultante que se ve en el vídeo). Esa pelota de células es lo más característico y definitorio de todos los animales; y cuando digo &#34;de todos&#34; incluyo también a las esponjas, que también se forman desde una blástula.
