De hecho han habido muchas otras propuestas como los melodys, una cosa intermedia entre alto y tenor, con diversas afinaciones pero sobre todo en do para poder tocar directamente del piano o del guión, utilizados en su día en el jazz y en desuso.

Como curiosidad hay saxos tenores y altos semi rectos, aunque fue algo puramente exótico sin recorrido alguno.

A pesar de ser un instrumento muy reciente ha evolucionado mucho y no siempre la evolución ha cuajado.

Ahora mismo Selmer está intentando cambiar algunos conceptos después de diversos fracasos, pero son sutilezas, no algo que te vuele la cabeza.

Interesante instrumento, sin duda.
