La gente venía dolorida de las arduas jornadas de trabajos muy duros y compraban un poco en la tienda de al lado para aliviar esos dolores.

Me imagino que luego empezaría el abuso pero mucha gente lo tomaba solo para poder cargar con esa vida tan dura.

Entiendo que con el alcohol sería parecido pero más social y menos efectivo.
