Pues ya lo he encontrado. El poema a que se refiere el blog es uno del doctor Christiaan Barnard (es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christiaan_Neethling_Barnard). Aquí está en inglés:

If you think that you are defeated, you are
If you think that you do not dare, you shall not do it
If you think that you would like to win but that you cannot, you shall not win

Lo curioso es que al mirar el texto en castellano y luego el original, éstos no se parecen en absoluto. Por muy mala que sea la traducción son textos diferentes.

Aquí está el original:

If you can keep your head when all about you

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
