LA QUEJA: In your coverage of the arrest of prominent basque terrorist leaders last day in France, I see with great astonishment and not small disappointment that you call Javier Lopez Peña (a man who ordered, among others, the recent assasinations of a local politician and a policeman) a "political leader".

I wonder if you are able to grasp the meaning and importance of this kind of word choice. I can't imagine a BBC newspiece reporting the arrest of Osama Bin laden as the political leader of muslim fundamentalism.

On the other side I find hard to believe that BBC doesn't have accurate information about the political situation in Spain. Do you know we have several political parties that are perfectly legal and enemies of all violence, which defend the secession of Basque Country (and of Catalonia, for that matter) from Spain? They concur to elections and frequently get seats in national and regional Parliaments, without the slightest legal problem. Do you understand that the trouble with ETA is not their being secessionists but their being terrorists? It seems an easy notion to learn, doesn't it?

I sincerely hope this outrageous lack of accuracy in your information is promptly corrected and never repeated.

la noticia que acaba de salir en la cnn está por el estilo edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/05/20/eta.leader/index.html aunque la contextualiza algo mejor. y en este caso estoy convencido que cnn+ (según dicen su fuente) cuando les pasa la noticia les llama terroristas a los terroristas.

parece que para los medios anglosajones sólo son terroristas los que cometieron los atentados del 11-S y del 7-J
