Apellidos como Hu, Wott, Wy y Tamara realmente existen!!
Obviamente son muy poco comunes, al menos en Estados Unidos.
Por ejemplo, Hu y Wy son asiáticos (de China, creo)
Pero vi una foto de un jugador de béisbol con su apellido Hu en la camiseta.
Sin embargo, otros como Aiduno parece más metido con calzador, ya que nadie se apellida así.

Todo esto me recordó un poco los apellidos de deportistas olímpicos que suenan graciosos en castellano, como, por ejemplo, Su Po-ya (luchadora de taekwondo taiwanesa), Chocho (corredor de marcha ecuatoriano), Mamona (portuguesa en triple salto, que ganó la plata por delante de la española Ana Peleteiro) o Lalova (corredora búlgara).

Técnicamente son homófonos (suenan igual).
Y cuando se quiere englobar palabras que suenan muy parecido es paronomasia.

Hu suena como Who ("Quién")
Wott suena como What ("Qué" / "Cuál")
Aiduno suena como "I don't know" ("No lo se")
Wy suena como "Why" ("Por qué")
Becaz suena como "Because" ("Porque")
Tamara suena como "Tomorrow" ("Mañana")
Tudae suena como "Today" ("Hoy")
Aydun Givadon suena como "I don't give a dime" (literalmente "No doy [ni] 10 centavos" pero sin ser literal sería equivalente a en español a "Me importa un bledo") o como "I don't give a damn" ("me importa una mierda").

Nat Truly suena como "Naturally" ("Naturalmente")


Por cierto, estos dos últimos nombres inventados graciosos también me recordaron a Gomaespuma:

Quizá más curioso es que existen nombres reales:

Técnicamente cuando hay dos palabras que cambian de significado según se sitúen las sílabas en una palabra o la otra es una figura literaria que se denomina calambur, el cual se usa desde muy antiguo.
Uno de los más famosos es uno que se atribuye a Quevedo: "Entre la rosa y el clavel, su majestad escoja". Según cuenta la leyenda, le dijo esa frase a la propia reina Doña Isabel, que era coja, y que tenía mucho complejo por ese defecto.
Otro muy bueno: "Ave César de Roma" / "A veces arde Roma".
Aunque estos como frase suelta son mucho más ingeniosos que los de nombres inventados, la genialidad de Abbot y Costello está en crear toda una historia (no solo una frase), elegir que los nombres confusos de persona correspondan a palabras muy comunes que precisamente funcionan como un sustantivo y toda la ejecución interpretativa en directo, porque actúan ahí tal cual delante de un público. Obviamente lo tenían ensayado muchas veces, pero no es lo mismo que hacer una peli, que si sale mal se repite hasta que salga.

También en los Simpson, cuando llama Bart a la taberna de Moe. ¿Está Empel? De apellido Otas.
Y este formato tipo llamadas se ha convertido en costumbre para trolear en situaciones como personas del público que llaman en directo a programas dando su nombre. Algunos típicos son uno que dice llamarse "Elber Galarga" (el verga larga), otra llamada "Rosa Melano" (Rózame el ano) y también "Benito Camela" (Ven, y tócamela).
