		<description><![CDATA[<p>Llego tardísimo, pero se me ocurre una solución elegante (sin cálculo numérico ni expresiones complicadas resultantes de resolver la ecuación de segundo grado):<br />
<br />
Partimos de 4<sup>x</sup>+4<sup>-x</sup>=7.<br />
Elevamos al cubo y obtenemos:<br />
4<sup>3x</sup>+3·4<sup>x</sup>+3·4<sup>-x</sup>+4<sup>-3x</sup>=7<sup>3</sup>=343.<br />
Operando:<br />
64<sup>x</sup>+64<sup>-x</sup>=343-3(4<sup>x</sup>+4<sup>-x</sup>)=343-3·7=322.<br />
Por otro lado, sea 8<sup>x</sup>+8<sup>-x</sup>=K (desconocido de momento).<br />
Elevamos al cuadrado:<br />
8<sup>2x</sup>+8<sup>-2x</sup>+2=K<sup>2</sup>.<br />
Esto es:<br />
64<sup>x</sup>+64<sup>-x</sup>=K<sup>2</sup>-2.<br />
Igualando las dos expresiones de 64<sup>x</sup>+64<sup>-x</sup> obtenemos:<br />
K<sup>2</sup>-2=322 -&#62; K<sup>2</sup>=324 -&#62; K=18 (asumimos que x es real y por tanto 8<sup>x</sup>+8<sup>-x</sup> es siempre positivo, descartando K=-18).<br />
<br />
Y así queda demostrado que 8<sup>x</sup>+8<sup>-x</sup>=18. Después de obtener esta solución he visto que es muy parecida a la propuesta en <a class="tooltip c:2941767-12" href="https://www.meneame.net/story/calculando-pero-bien/c012#c-12" rel="nofollow">#12</a>, aunque esa solución hace primero la &#34;raíz cuadrada&#34; y luego el &#34;cubo&#34; (o sea, pasa del 4 al 2 y luego al 8 ), mientras que la mía sigue el orden inverso.</p><p>&#187;&nbsp;autor: <strong>Ñbrevu</strong></p>]]></description>

Por la propiedad de los logaritmos, la potencia del logaritmo se extrae:<br />

De nuevo, se puede calcular. Tengase en cuenta que esto es igual tanto para u como para 1 / u. Numéricamente, los resultados son, aproximadamente, 1,39 y -1,39. Por comodidad, llamemos a estos dos valores w y -w.<br />

Vamos a la segunda ecuacion, y sustituimos:<br />

8 ^ w + 8 ^ -w = ?<br />
<br />
Llegados a este punto, se da uno cuenta de que las dos soluciones de las que partíamos son, en realidad, una ( 8 ^ w = 8 ^ <del>(</del>(w))). Si calculamos, veremos que da aproximadamente 17,94 y 0,06.<br />

Hay 2 cosas a lo que he llegado.<br />

1. se convierte con sustitución una ecuación de tercer grado que ya es complicada de por si, a partir de la cual se tiene que resolver la potencia. <br />
2. Se que 8^x + 8^(-x) = 7*2^x<br />
<br />
Dado que x tiene 2 soluciones reales con bastantes decimales creo que <a class="tooltip c:2941767-3" href="https://www.meneame.net/story/calculando-pero-bien/c03#c-3" rel="nofollow">#3</a> tiene razón. (aqui tirando un poco de herramientas externas)<br />
