De cualquier manera este procesador no creo que esté orientado a jugar, mas bien estará orientado a sistemas de cálculo donde se busca resolver un problema complejo en el menor tiempo posible. Por eso digo que es una pena que no todo se pueda paralelizar. Los procesadores de cálculo general (las GPU son harina de otro costal) deberían buscar la velocidad como antiguamente, mas eficacia en la ejecución de sus instrucciones, menor latencia en la carga de datos desde memoria, ... Imagina un proceso con 50 pasos, cada uno toma de entrada la salida del anterior y el primero una entrada aleatoria. ¿En base a que entrada trabaja el proceso 34?. Tienes que esperar a que los 33 anteriores se resuelvan para saber su entrada y lanzarlo.<br />
<br />
En este procesador con 50 núcleos no obtendrías beneficio alguno sobre un procesador de un solo núcleo. Incluso perdería rendimiento al tener que crear toda la estructura de 50 hilos <br />

A lo de los juegos del 2003, no estoy de acuerdo contigo. El Black Ops rula sobrao en el i7 de 8 núcleos a 4 Ghz, con 6 Gb RAM DDR3 a 1633, un SSD y una GTX570 alta.<br />

El problema del Cell es que es un procesador tonto. Los SPEs requieren mucha ayuda del compilador y también del programador si lo quieres utilizar bien utilizado. Por tener no tienen ni predicción de saltos.<br />

Además, esos TeraFLOPS son en coma flotante simple. En doble el rendimiento se reduce a la mitad mientras que el MIC de Intel son TeraFLOPS medidos ya con precisión doble.<br />
<br />

Para aclararlo.<br />
Lo de &#34;correra el crysis&#34; es una frase en tono irónico,se hizo bastante famosa en internet los primeros años del juego y desde entonces es una especie de &#34;meme&#34; escrito.<br />

El último Firefox que me ha puesto el repo, el 8.0, normalmente se mueve por debajo de los 100 MB de memoria si no hay flash de por medio. Vuelve a valores equivalentes o inferiores al 3.6 sólo que ahora las páginas van fluidas. El 8.0 me rinde igual que el 4 pero con la mitad de memoria.<br />
<br />

Por contra los 4,6 u 8 núcleos que tenemos ahora sí que lo son: pueden correr cualquier tipo de programa independientemente.<br />
